PCT Day 22 - A Birthday To Remember

It’s May 7th! The day my beautiful momma brought me into the world!

Also the day Joe and I hustled 19 miles to ensure we would arrive in Big Bear Lake by May 8th.

We were officially running low on food, and had just this last big push up the San Gorgonio Mountains before our big long descent.

We were nearly 60 miles away from San Jacinto by this point, but guess what we caught sight off as we rounded the western sides of this new mountain chain? Mt Jacinto. That bastard.


Here it can be seen behind us, stalking us in a way...

Overall it was a great birthday, a few trail friends wished me well, and I enjoyed a birthday cake protein cookie. :D

We even camped in a spot about 16 miles from town that offered some cell reception so I was able to receive birthday texts and messages.





Lastly, we hit our next milestone- 250 miles!!!!
