Water is not as abundant as it once was and since we are taking it slow we decided to only hike from water source to water source. For today this meant we would only do 15 miles and probably the same tomorrow. We said goodbye to some people we've seen on trail a lot and in towns as they plan to continue Northward to Walker Pass and then flip forward to avoid the Sierra's. Since we are leaving for Florida for family vacation soon, we will likely not see them for a long time.
The hike today was more of the same but our feet are starting to ache a lot as our shoes are worn out. We will get new ones before we continue after vacation. We think we saw Mount Whitney today for the first time which is the highest point in the lower 48 states.
We arrived at camp rather early and because the weather has been warm we sat outside our tent and ate our dinner which is an added bonus.
