PCT Day 84 - Shelter Cove Resort

I didn’t sleep well, constantly tossing and turning, imagining mozzies attacking my face all through the night.
We woke early and did something we never do- quickly pulled our packs into the tent and packed while in the security of our home, a mesh netting protecting us from the flying vampires.
Once packed we threw on double layers- two shirts, pants and our bug head-nets.
We were trapped in our head nets for most of the day.
Our hike today took us by several ponds, swampy areas and lakes- each so still they were like mirrors.
The anticipated snow fields were present, but not dangerous, they were easily hiked over even in the warmth of the mid morning sun.
After a full day of hiking we arrive at Shelter Cove- a popular camping resort for many Oregonians. The property is beautiful, and the lake pristine.
When we arrive we order a pizza from their restaurant and hang out on their porch and converse with hiker friends. We then do our errands of laundry and showers.
Joe’s nephew William sent us the sweetest card that he made, and the boiled peanuts were a real treat!
We stay the evening at their designated PCT camp site and plan to hike out in the am.
