We have a big day today. Right away this morning after we packed up Joe went to the bathroom and came back with six bee stings! On his legs, elbow, and back. We gave him 10 minutes to sit to see if he was going to have a reaction, he seemed OK. Lots of climbing today too and it was so hot! Someone said it was 96°. We had lunch at a nice cold Creek, where I was able to cool down and clean my legs and feet. I mostly hiked in my bra to stay cool.
The last 8 miles were all uphill, 3000 feet elevation gain and no water available during the climb, so we had to carry 4 L each. 6 miles in there was a water cache that was just refill today, we had been told earlier that it was empty. I was sad I had to carry four extra pounds, but it was nice to have the water.
We camped on an expose saddle, better sleep tonight. There were beautiful views of Mount Hood in the distance.
