We left Cascade Locks at around 10:30 AM. There was so much climbing, but it felt amazing to be in Washington at last. On the way out of Oregon there were lots of blackberry bushes that occupied the 1st mile of our hike. Shortly into the hike we saw Kermit coming into cascade locks, so we had to stop and talk to him for at least an hour.
The days hike was long and hard for me, I guess because my pack was so heavy. And it was miserably hot- it got close to 90.
When we arrived at camp at 8:30 PM, we got the last site. So many people were camping at Rock Pile Creek. The tent site was on an extreme slant with lots of tree roots beneath us. I slept awful.
