PCT Day 98 - Zero in Portland

Joe and I have been discussing upgrading our tent. We’ve noticed the zipper on my side of the tent is starting to pull apart when zipped, but otherwise the MSR Hubba Hubba tent has served us really well. Over 98 days out in the back country, being used, zipped and unzipped multiple times a day.

REI has this really helpful policy for us hikers; they will accept returns for up to 1 year. So we woke up early and caught a bus for Portland, to go to REI.

We walked in pretty much knowing which tent we were going to exchange for- the Big Agnes Tiger Wall 3 person!



Yes, a 3 person tent! And it is lighter in weight than our 2 person! We were sold.

We got back to Cascade Locks a few hours later and spent the night in a hotel room. Tomorrow we’re back on trail, we’re both excited to try out our new tent!
