PCT Day 97 - Cascade Locks!

We got up early and were in the town of Cascade Locks by 8 AM. We saw hikers Cruise Control first and found out about laundry, saw a bunch of SOBO’s at a cafĂ©, so we stopped to get coffee first and chat with the hikers who were in town the night before. We learned about the campground, showers, laundry, and the free beer. After coffee and we went to the campgrounds and showered and set up camp. Then we did other errands like laundry. After errands Joe and I grabbed a pizza lunch at the Ale House. The bartender at the Ale House encouraged us to visit the local museum to see the PCT exhibit in the basement.

After, we went to Thunder Island Brewing for beer and dinner and met up with a bunch of other hikers that we hadn’t met before. We closed the brewery down at 10pm, and a few of us went to a 2 AM bar. There we enjoyed a few rounds of PBR with Dad Jokes and Weatherman and Logan. After the bar we picked blackberries in the dark at two in the morning. The bar was so fun– we played pool, spent too much on the jukebox, chatted with local Native American Indians whose linage dishes the Columbia River for generations, and kept the bar open way tooo late.
